Isn't there is a very high risk of developing diabetes mellitus
if you take hgh????
A: Actually, one of the main reasons I personally began taking
PRIMINO-PLUS
HGH, is because I have adult-onset diabetes. I was aware that
there had been
some concern that giving HGH could make diabetes worse, since
growth
hormone is known to antagonize the effects of insulin. But recent
studies have
shown that far from worsening diabetes, it may actually help.
Dr. Ronald Klatz, author of the book, 'Growing Young with HGH'
writes that
"Previous studies, including one done by a Dr. Rudman, showed
that growth
hormone caused increased insulin resistance, making blood glucose
rise, and
contraindicating its use in diabetic patients. A Dr. Bengtsson
showed the same
thing in a short-term study of 6 weeks of growth hormone treatment.
But after
six months, he found the insulin sensitivity returned to where
it was before the
patient started treatment. In other words, growth hormone did
not increase
blood glucose or make the patient diabetic. It may be, says Bengtsson,
that
the improvement in body composition after six months offsets any
negative
effect that growth hormone has on insulin."
He goes on to write that, "There are some indications that
growth hormone
may even improve diabetes. Blackman, who is looking at the effects
of growth
hormone on blood glucose as part of his NIA study at John Hopkins,
says, "We
postulate the case that when elderly people are in a low state
of growth
hormone, they have more intrabdominal fat, their insulin acts
less well, and
they have a tendency to higher blood sugar. If they are given
growth hormone
replacement carefully, rather than excessively, their blood sugars
should
improve rather than worsen."
He also states that "In a conversation with Greg Fahay,
Ph.D., of the Naval
Medical Research Institute, it was revealed that his own unpublished
experiments show that growth hormone is extremely beneficial for
diabetes,
and that he may have found a method to potentially cure adult-onset
diabetes
via growth hormone! He has filed patents for the treatments of
diabetes with
HGH. In the latest wrinkle, two studies suggest that IGF-1 given
by itself
significantly reduces the dosage of insulin that type 1 diabetics
need."
Please be advised that the above statements are for educational
and
informational purposes only. If you are a diabetic or have any
medical
condition, consult your doctor or holistic physician before taking
GH or any
other supplement. Research does indicate that some diabetics on
GH therapy
have decreased their need for insulin... but a doctor should monitor
your
condition.
